Spring
Mountain
Much like its valley neighbor to the east, St Helena, the Spring
Mountain district of Napa County is noted for its Rhone varietals
(Syrah, Viognier), as well as Cabernet Sauvignon.
Located at the northern end of the Napa Valley, along Hwy 29 just
above the town of St Helena, Spring Mountain nestles snuggly into
the eastern flanks of the Mayacamas range right along the Sonoma
County & Napa Country border. The combination of prolonged
morning sunlight due to eastern exposure and limited marine influence
due to western mountain protection, give the wine grapes of Spring
Mountain a full bodied, fruit forward feel. Spring Mountain’s
Syrah in particular is bursting with dark berry notes and the
Viognier tends to be light and aromatic – almost floral
in its intensity.
